There is exactly one full CCE Group A Mains Paper set you can practise from: Gujarati on 25-11-2024, English on 26-11-2024 and General Studies on 27-11-2024, all from Advt. No. 212/202324.

That matters because of what it rules out. GSSSB’s descriptive Group A mains has been held twice in total, and the second one was a special drive. So any page offering you a “2021” or “2022” CCE Group A mains old paper is showing you something else: a prelims paper, a Group B paper, or an old single-post GSSSB exam.

This page lists every CCE Group A mains paper that exists, tells you what does not exist, and shows how to use three papers properly instead of hunting for a fourth.

CCE Group A Mains Paper: What Actually Exists

So the honest count of the CCE Group A mains paper set is three question papers from one exam, plus one more sitting whose papers are not freely available. Compare that with a prelims paper hunt, where dozens of CBRT shifts exist, and you can see why the mains needs a different approach.

The December 2025 papers from the Divyangjan drive are marked [TO BE UPDATED]. We will add them here the day a verified copy is available, and not before.

Is the 2024 CCE Group A Mains Old Paper Still Useful in 2026?

Yes, and more than people assume. A 2024 old paper sounds stale until you check what changed. The Rules changed in January 2026, but the change landed on the prelims, not on Group A.

Stage2024 cycle (212/202324)2026 cycle (378/202526)
Prelims100 marks, 60 minutes, reasoning 40, quantitative 30, English 15, Gujarati 15150 marks, 120 minutes
Group A mainsGujarati 100 + English 100 + General Studies 150 = 350, three hours per paper, descriptiveUnchanged under the 2026 Rules

Because the three-paper structure survived the rule change, the November 2024 CCE Group A mains paper set is still the closest thing to a real mock you can get. Read it beside the CCE Group A mains syllabus and you will see the same question formats: essay, letter, report, precis, translation and grammar in the language papers, and short descriptive answers in General Studies.

How to Use the CCE Group A Mains Paper Properly

A CCE Group A mains old paper is not something you read. It is something you sit for. Three hours, one pen, no phone.

  1. Sit Paper-3 first. General Studies carries 56 questions for 150 marks under the current Rules, which is about 3.2 minutes per question. Most candidates discover their real problem here: not knowledge, but speed.
  2. Respect the word limits. A 3-mark answer is 30 to 50 words. Thirty of those carry 90 marks, which is 60% of the General Studies paper. Writing 100 words there costs you time you needed for the 5-mark answers.
  3. Write the language papers by hand. Typing an essay tells you nothing about whether you can finish 250 words in Gujarati in the time available.
  4. Count your own words once. Write one 250-word essay, count the words, and learn what that looks like in your handwriting. After that you can stop counting.
  5. Mark your own script the next day. Not for marks. For handwriting, cuts, margins and whether the first line of each answer actually answers the question.

One paper used this way is worth more than ten papers downloaded and never opened.

CCE Group A Mains Paper Solution and Answer Key: The Honest Position

Group B candidates are better served here: the CCE Group B Mains Paper 2025 is available with all its answer keys, which is not the case for the Group A mains paper.

This is about the mains paper. For the 2026 prelims, GSSSB releases a provisional answer key cum response sheet behind each candidate login rather than one common PDF — we track that release and the objection window on the CCE Prelims Answer Key 2026 page.

For the objective papers, GSSSB publishes a provisional answer key, takes objections and then issues a final key. The prelims key for the 2024 cycle came out on 8 June 2024 with an objection window until 17 June.

The descriptive mains works differently. There is no answer key for a Group A mains paper, because there is no single correct answer to an essay, a charchapatra or a 5-mark General Studies question. Examiners work from a marking scheme that is not published.

So when you search for a CCE Group A mains paper solution PDF, be clear about what you are actually getting: a private coaching institute’s model answers, written by a teacher, not by the Board. They can be useful for structure. They are not official, and they carry no weight in evaluation.

What About the CCE Group A Mains Toppers Answer Sheet?

This one is worth saying plainly. We could not find any topper answer sheet published by GSSSB for the CCE Group A mains, and the Board has never announced one. UPSC-style scanned topper copies simply do not exist for this exam yet.

What you can do instead is build your own model copy. Take the 2024 Gujarati paper, write your answers, and keep the version your teacher corrects. Three corrected papers in your own handwriting will teach you more than a PDF of someone else’s.

CCE Group A Mains Paper vs Prelims Papers

Prelims and mains papers serve different purposes, and mixing them wastes time. The prelims is objective and runs across many CBRT shifts, so there is a large bank of questions to practise from. Our GSSSB CCE question paper collection carries those shift-wise PDFs.

Use the prelims papers for speed and accuracy. Use the CCE Group A mains paper for writing stamina. Those are two different skills, and the second one takes longer to build.

CCE Exam Timeline So Far

DateEvent
1 April to 20 May 2024CCE prelims, Advt. 212/202324, held in CBRT shifts
8 June 2024Provisional prelims answer key, objections until 17 June
25 to 27 November 2024Group A mains, the three papers on this page
8 June 2025Group B mains, objective paper, same advertisement
18 to 20 December 2025Group A mains for the Divyangjan drive, Advt. 271/202425
12 August 2026Provisional Group A mains result for that drive
16 to 29 September 2026CCE prelims for Advt. 378/202526

Read the gap between the 2024 prelims and the 2024 mains: candidates wrote the screening test in April and May, then the descriptive papers at the end of November. Roughly six months. If this cycle follows the same rhythm, the next Group A mains lands in the first half of 2027, which is enough time to build a writing habit from these three CCE Group A mains paper PDFs.

FAQs on CCE Group A Mains Paper

How many CCE Group A mains paper PDFs are available?

Three CCE Group A mains paper PDFs are public: Gujarati Language Skill from 25 November 2024, English Language Skill from 26 November 2024 and General Studies from 27 November 2024, all under Advt. No. 212/202324. A second Group A mains was held from 18 to 20 December 2025 for the Divyangjan drive, but those papers are not circulating publicly.

Where can I download the CCE Group A mains paper PDF?

Use the download table on this page for all three CCE Group A mains paper PDFs from the November 2024 exam. GSSSB also publishes question papers in the news and question paper section of gsssb.gujarat.gov.in after an exam, so check there for any paper added later.

Is there a CCE Group A mains old paper for 2022?

No. The CCE system replaced separate post-wise exams, and the first CCE prelims was held from 1 April 2024 with the first Group A mains in November 2024. Anything sold as a 2021 or 2022 Group A mains paper is a different GSSSB exam, a prelims paper or a Group B paper.

Is a CCE Group A mains paper solution PDF available?

Not officially. Group A papers are descriptive, so GSSSB releases no answer key and no model answers for them. Any solution PDF you find is written by a coaching institute or a teacher. Use it for answer structure, but do not treat it as the Board’s own answer.

Does GSSSB publish a CCE Group A mains toppers answer sheet?

We found no topper answer sheet released by GSSSB for this exam, and the Board has not announced any plan to publish one. Files circulating under that name are unverified. Writing and getting your own answers corrected is the reliable substitute.

Is the 2024 CCE Group A mains paper still valid for the 2026 exam?

Yes. The 2026 Rules changed the preliminary exam to 150 marks and 120 minutes, but the Group A mains scheme stayed the same: Gujarati 100, English 100 and General Studies 150, three hours per paper, descriptive. The 2024 papers therefore match the current format.

How many marks is the CCE Group A mains exam?

350 marks in total. Paper-1 Gujarati carries 100 marks, Paper-2 English carries 100 marks and Paper-3 General Studies carries 150 marks. Each paper runs for three hours, which works out to nine hours of handwriting across the three days. Preliminary exam marks are not added to this total, since the prelims only screens candidates for the mains.

What is the medium of the CCE Group A mains paper?

Paper-1 is in Gujarati and Paper-2 is in English. Paper-3, General Studies, is set in Gujarati, so two of the three papers are written in Gujarati. The standard of both language papers is the higher-level Gujarati and English of Std 12 of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

Are prelims and mains question papers the same?

No. The prelims is an objective CBRT paper with negative marking and many shifts, while the Group A mains is handwritten and descriptive with no options to mark. Practise prelims papers for speed, and the CCE Group A mains paper for writing under a three-hour clock.

When is the next CCE Group A mains exam?

GSSSB has not announced a date for Advt. No. 378/202526. The prelims is being held from 16 to 29 September 2026, and in the previous cycle the Group A mains followed about six months after the prelims. Watch gsssb.gujarat.gov.in and your OJAS login for the notice.

Final Word on the CCE Group A Mains Paper

Three papers, nine hours, one exam week in November 2024. That is the entire public record of the CCE Group A mains paper, and it is enough if you treat each paper as a full sitting rather than a download.

Your next step: block three hours this Sunday, print Paper-3 from the table above, and write all 56 answers by hand within the time limit.
