The CCE 2.0 Notification has 1,237 posts. GSSSB’s own exam calendar of July 2026 had listed about 2,422 posts for the second CCE, so the advertisement carries roughly half (51%) of what was planned.

Group A is where the cut hurts most.

CCE-1 (Advt. No. 378/202526) had 2,942 Group A posts. CCE 2.0 has 243, about one-twelfth as many. Group B falls from 4,396 Junior Clerk posts to 994. Read that before you treat CCE 2.0 as a repeat of CCE-1 with a fresh form. The mains lists will hold at most 1,701 names for Group A and 6,958 for Group B, against 20,594 and 30,772 in CCE-1. Fewer seats on the list usually means a higher prelims bar, so if you plan to apply, plan to prepare harder than last time, not the same amount. One point in your favour: CCE-1 grew by 1,968 posts through two amendments after its form opened, and this notification also says its numbers may change.

CCE 2.0 Vacancy 2026: Post-wise Posts and Salary

All salaries below are the fixed monthly pay for the first five years, as printed in the CCE 2.0 Notification. After five years of satisfactory service, you move to the regular pay scale under the rules in force.

Post (Class III)GroupPostsFixed pay (₹)
Sub Registrar, Grade-1A649,600

Head ClerkA1040,800
Senior ClerkA5126,000
Junior ClerkB99426,000
Total–1,237–

Two things in this table are easy to miss. Senior Clerk and Office Assistant are Group A posts, but their starting pay is the same ₹26,000 as Junior Clerk. The pay gap opens at Head Clerk, Social Welfare Inspector and Sub Registrar Grade-2 (₹40,800), and again at the three ₹49,600 posts. Also, three Group A posts sit in a single department each: all 50 Assistant Tribal Development Officer and all 10 Head Clerk posts are in the Tribal Development directorate, and all 89 Social Welfare Inspector posts are under the Director of Developing Castes Welfare.

Where the 994 Junior Clerk Posts Are

  • Commissioner of Schools (Education): 200
  • Commissioner of Transport (Ports and Transport): 160
  • Registrar of Co-operative Societies: 100
  • Head of Forest Force (Forest and Environment): 100
  • Medical Education and Research (Health and Family Welfare): 100
  • Director of Tribal Development: 90
  • Director of Food and Civil Supplies: 50
  • Commissioner of Youth Services and Cultural Activities: 40
  • Charity Commissioner: 35
  • Director of Social Defence: 28; Director of NCC, Ahmedabad: 28
  • Prohibition and Excise, Gandhinagar: 20; Food and Drugs Control Administration: 20
  • Director of Economics and Statistics: 13
  • Archaeology: 4; Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board: 4; Director of Insurance: 1; Development Commissioner: 1

The 51 Senior Clerk posts are spread across the Charity Commissioner (28), Food and Drugs Control Administration (9), Forensic Science directorate (6), Commissioner of Transport (5), Development Commissioner (2) and the Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (1).

Category-wise Vacancy in the CCE 2.0 Notification

Numbers in brackets are the posts reserved for women within that category. The last two columns are the maximum number of candidates who can be called to each mains, at seven times the category-wise posts.

CategoryGroup A posts (women)Group B posts (women)Group A mains list (× 7)Group B mains list (× 7)
General102 (30)454 (149)7143,178
EWS25 (7)106 (33)175742
SEBC54 (17)241 (77)3781,687

ST40 (12)147 (47)2801,029
Total243 (72)994 (320)1,7016,958
  • SC candidates have the fewest seats in Group B: 46 posts, so at most 322 SC names on the Group B mains list. Medical Education’s 100 Junior Clerk posts include no SC post at all.
  • Ex-servicemen: 19 posts in Group A and 98 in Group B, adjusted against their own category. The notification reserves 10% for ex-servicemen under the rules.
  • Disability (PwD): only 13 posts in Group A and 12 in Group B. The notification explains why: GSSSB is filling the disability backlog in Class III posts through a separate special recruitment drive, so some departments in this advertisement carry no PwD-reserved post. A candidate with a listed disability can still apply against an unreserved post where that disability is accepted.
  • Women’s seats are not men-only elsewhere. Posts outside the women’s quota are open to both men and women on merit. If a women’s seat finds no eligible woman, it goes to a man from the same category.

Reserved-category benefits apply only to candidates who are originally from Gujarat. A reserved-category candidate who applies against an unreserved post gets no age relaxation.

CCE 2.0 Eligibility: Qualification, Age and Certificates

Qualification

You need a bachelor’s degree from a university established under a central or state act, a deemed university, or a government-recognised equivalent. Two more conditions apply to every post: basic computer knowledge and adequate knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi or both. You may apply without a computer certificate, but you must produce one (or pass the basic computer test) before appointment, or the selection is cancelled. Qualification, age and all certificates are judged as on 30 November 2026.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The CCE 2.0 Notification sets the age at 20 to 35 years on 30 November 2026. Relaxation, with the upper limit capped at 45 years wherever it is stated:

  • General category women: 5 years
  • Reserved category men: 5 years
  • Reserved category women: 10 years (maximum 45)
  • General category PwD men: 10 years; PwD women: 15 years (maximum 45)
  • Reserved category PwD men: 15 years; PwD women: 20 years (maximum 45)
  • Ex-servicemen: length of service plus 3 years

Certificate Date Windows That Decide Your Category

Most rejections in Gujarat recruitments come from certificates dated outside the allowed window. The CCE 2.0 Notification fixes these:

  • SEBC non-creamy layer (Gujarati format, Appendix-4): issued between 1 April 2024 and 30 November 2026, based on income for 2024-25, 2025-26 or 2026-27. The central-government Annexure-A format is accepted instead only if issued between 1 April 2026 and 30 November 2026.
  • Married SEBC women: the certificate must be on your parents’ income. A certificate on your husband’s income leads to rejection.
  • EWS: the state format (Annexure-KH in English or Appendix-G in Gujarati) issued between 1 December 2023 and 30 November 2026, or the central Income and Asset Certificate for 2026-27 issued between 1 April 2026 and 30 November 2026. A certificate made for Gujarat government schemes is not accepted.

Without a valid certificate, an SEBC or EWS candidate is treated as general. If that puts you over the general age limit, your candidature is cancelled.

CCE 2.0 Application Fee and Refund

CategoryPrelims fee
Unreserved (general) men₹500
Women of all categories, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD and ex-servicemen₹400

The full fee comes back to every candidate who appears in the exam, through the same mode used to pay. You pay online only (debit card, internet banking, UPI or wallet), plus transaction charges, by 2 December 2026. There is no late fee, and an application without a fee receipt is treated as not submitted.

Be careful with duplicate forms. If you confirm more than one application, only the last confirmed one with a paid fee counts, and fee paid on the others is not refunded. Your category cannot be changed after you confirm. The only fix is a fresh application before 30 November with a fresh fee.

How to Apply for CCE 2.0 on OJAS

  1. Complete your One Time Registration (OTR) on ojas.gujarat.gov.in if you have not done it already. OTR alone is not an application.
  2. Go to Online Application → Apply → GSSSB, and select Advt. No. 468/202627.
  3. Fill in Personal Details, then Educational Details, accept the Assurance and save. Note your application number.
  4. Upload your photo and signature in JPG, each within 15 KB. The photo must have a white background with the date it was taken printed on it, and must not be more than one year older than the last date (30 November 2026). Print four or five copies, because the same photo is used at the exam and at document verification.
  5. Check every detail against your certificates, then click Confirm Application and save the confirmation number.
  6. Pay the fee online by 2 December 2026 and print both the application and the fee receipt.

For help with eligibility or the form, the notification gives GSSSB’s office number: 079-23258916.

CCE 2.0 Exam Pattern: Prelims and Mains

CCE 2.0 follows the same rules notified on 22 January 2026 that governed CCE-1, so the pattern is identical.

Prelims section (common for Group A and B)Marks
Reasoning60
Quantitative Aptitude30
General Awareness and Current Affairs30
English15
Gujarati15
Total (150 questions, 120 minutes)150
  • That is 48 seconds a question, with 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Candidates with a disability get 20 extra minutes per hour.
  • The prelims is only a screening test. Its marks are not counted in the final selection list.
  • The minimum is 40% in every stage and every paper, which is 60 out of 150 in the prelims. No category can be given a lower standard.
  • Separate mains lists are prepared for Group A and Group B at seven times the category-wise posts.

Group A mains is descriptive: Gujarati Language Skill (100), English Language Skill (100) and General Studies (150), three hours each, 350 marks in all. The full topic list is on our CCE Group A mains syllabus page, and the CCE Group A mains old papers show how those topics are actually asked.

Group B mains is one objective paper of 200 marks in 120 minutes (36 seconds a question). Its ten subjects run from the Indian state system and constitution (20) and government schemes (30) to Gujarat’s history and geography (20) and Gujarati and English (20). The subject-wise split is on our CCE Group B mains syllabus page, and you can try the real thing with the CCE Group B mains paper 2025 with answer keys.

The notification does not attach a detailed topic list for the prelims, only the section marks above. For CCE-1, GSSSB published the detailed prelims syllabus as a separate notice.

Extra Marks, Merit List and Waiting List

  • Sports: candidates who have represented at national or international level, inter-university level, or in All India School Federation events, in the 25 games listed, get 5% of their marks added for merit. You must produce the certificate in the prescribed format at document verification.
  • Widows: 5% of marks are added for merit, provided you have not remarried at the time of appointment.
  • No waiting list: because this is a combined advertisement for several cadres, the CCE 2.0 Notification states that no waiting list will be prepared.

These 5% additions are the “additional marks” column you may have seen in the CCE-1 marks PDF. Our GSSSB CCE result page explains how that list was published.

CCE 2.0 Exam Date: What Is Known

The CCE 2.0 Notification gives no exam date. It says the date, timing and call letter instructions will be posted on gsssb.gujarat.gov.in. GSSSB’s July 2026 calendar had placed the CCE-2 prelims in December 2026, but that was a plan, not a notice. With fee payment open until 2 December, treat December as uncertain. For reference, CCE-1 applications closed on 2 March 2026 and its prelims began on 16 September 2026, 198 days later. That gap is history, not a forecast.

CCE-1 is the best guide to the level you will face. Its prelims cut off for Group B General came in at 113.87615 out of 150 (75.9%), with 4,396 posts on offer. This time there are less than a quarter as many Group B posts. We will not guess a CCE 2.0 cut off, because it depends on how many people apply, but the category-wise figures on our CCE cut off 2026 page show the bar you should prepare above. If you sat CCE-1, rechecking your paper with the CCE prelims answer key method will show which sections cost you the most.

What is the CCE 2.0 form last date?

The last date to apply for CCE 2.0 is 30 November 2026 at 11:59 pm on ojas.gujarat.gov.in. Applications open on 5 November 2026 at 2:00 pm. You can pay the fee until 2 December 2026, but only for an application already confirmed before the deadline.

Is the CCE 2.0 notification 2026 PDF available?

Yes. GSSSB released the 38-page CCE 2.0 notification PDF dated 3 November 2026 under Advt. No. 468/202627, in Gujarati. It is available on OJAS through the advertisement’s More Details option and on gsssb.gujarat.gov.in. It includes the category-wise vacancy table and the mains syllabus.

What is the CCE 2.0 exam date?

No exam date has been announced. The notification says the date and call letter details will be published on gsssb.gujarat.gov.in. GSSSB’s July calendar had shown December 2026 for the CCE-2 prelims, but the fee window runs until 2 December, so that plan may not hold.

What is the age limit for CCE 2.0?

The age limit is 20 to 35 years as on 30 November 2026. General women and reserved men get 5 years’ relaxation, and reserved women get 10. Candidates with a disability get 10 to 20 years depending on category and gender, and in each of these cases the upper limit cannot go beyond 45 years.

What is the CCE 2.0 application fee?

The fee is ₹500 for unreserved men and ₹400 for women of all categories, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD and ex-servicemen. It is paid online by 2 December 2026, and the full fee is refunded to every candidate who appears in the exam.

Is the CCE 2.0 syllabus the same as CCE-1?

Yes. It follows the same rules of 22 January 2026. The prelims has the same 150-mark, 120-minute pattern. The Group A mains is still descriptive (350 marks) and the Group B mains is still a 200-mark objective paper, with the same Appendix-G and Appendix-H attached.

What is the salary in CCE 2.0?

Fixed pay for the first five years is ₹49,600 for Sub Registrar Grade-1, Office Superintendent and Assistant Tribal Development Officer, and ₹40,800 for Sub Registrar Grade-2, Social Welfare Inspector and Head Clerk. Senior Clerk, Office Assistant and Junior Clerk get ₹26,000 a month.

Can I apply for CCE 2.0 with a 12th pass?

No. Every post in this recruitment, including Group B Junior Clerk, needs a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or an equivalent. You also need basic computer knowledge, which you can prove before appointment, and adequate knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi or both.

CCE 2.0 Notification: Your Next Step

The CCE 2.0 Notification is smaller than GSSSB’s own calendar suggested, and the pattern is the one CCE-1 candidates have just faced. That makes the CCE-1 papers and cut offs the most useful preparation material you have. The form itself takes twenty minutes; getting the SEBC or EWS certificate date wrong can cost you the whole cycle.

Your next step: check that your caste or EWS certificate falls inside the date window above, then complete your OJAS application before 28 November rather than on the last day.
